Questions, answered
FAQs.
01 What is Supported Independent Living (SIL)?
SIL is NDIS funding for the support staff who help a participant live as independently as possible in a shared or individual home. SIL pays for the people and their roster of care — not for the building itself.
02Can you deliver SIL with high-intensity supports?
Yes — this is a real differentiator. Carevally is registered for both SIL (Class 0115) and High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (Class 0104), so we can deliver SIL rosters that include complex care without needing to outsource.
03How much does SIL cost?
SIL costs are quoted to the NDIA based on your roster of care. Low-intensity shared SIL typically starts around $80,000 per year; medium-intensity ranges $150,000-$300,000; 24/7 1:1 high-intensity often exceeds $400,000. We prepare a clear, itemised quote before anything is submitted.
04 Can I choose my own housemates?
Yes. We arrange compatibility meet-and-greets before any move-in. Choice and consent come first.
05How do I switch SIL providers to Carevally?
You can change providers at any time. We coordinate a 4-8 week handover with overlap to maintain continuity. Your NDIS funding moves with you.
